Data Science for Social Impact Tutor

The Data Science Institute is seeking a current UChicago graduate student from computer science, data science, or statistics to join the Data Science for Social Impact (DSSI) Summer Experience team as a Tutor for the 2025 program. The DSSI Summer Experience is an immersive 8-week paid summer research program hosted by DSI. The Tutor will serve as a teaching and technical assistance resource for undergraduate students learning data science and real-world research applications. Benefits of the position include mentoring experience, networking within the UChicago data science ecosystem, assisting with data projects for social good, and working as part of a team to broaden participation in data science and computer science.

Data Science for Social Impact Program Assistant

The Data Science Institute is seeking a current UChicago graduate student from computer science, data science, or statistics to join the Data Science for Social Impact (DSSI) Summer Experience team as a Program Assistant for the 2025 program. The DSSI Summer Experience is an immersive 8-week paid summer research program hosted by DSI. The Program Assistant will help facilitate weekly programmatic activities, such as research project stand-up meetings, speaker presentations, final student research symposiums, and other student-centered programming. Benefits of the position include mentoring experience, networking within the UChicago data science ecosystem, assisting with data projects for social good, and working as part of a team to broaden participation in data science and computer science.

Data4All Program Assistant

The Data Science Institute (DSI) is seeking a current UChicago graduate student to serve as a program assistant for the spring Data4All High School Bridge Workshop. The workshop aims to provide high school students from the Chicagoland area with an introduction to data science skills and concepts. The program assistant aids in the implementation of Data4All curriculum and serves as an instructional leader during workshop sessions. Benefits of the position include competitive compensation, teaching experience, networking within the UChicago data science ecosystem, and working as part of a team to help broaden participation in data science and computing.
