The Data Science Institute (DSI) is seeking current UChicago undergraduate students to serve as Undergraduate Mentors for the spring Data4All High School Bridge Workshop. The workshop aims to provide high school students from the Chicagoland area with an introduction to data science skills and concepts. The undergraduate mentors provide instruction for the high school students as they work through data science case studies using Jupyter Notebooks, and help facilitate discussions within small groups (5-6 students each). Benefits of the position include competitive compensation, mentoring experience, networking within the UChicago data science ecosystem, and working as part of a team to help broaden participation in data science and computing. Summer Lab Coordinator

The Data Science Institute is seeking a current UChicago graduate student or graduating senior from computer science, data science, or statistics to join the DSI Summer Lab team as a Lab Coordinator for the 2025 program (June 16 – August 8). This is a full-time summer position.

The DSI Summer Lab is an immersive 8-week summer research program at the University of Chicago focused on broadening participation in data science among high school and undergraduate students. This program aims to reduce barriers to participating in computing by skill development, exposure to careers pathways, and mentorships. The program includes roughly 20 students paired with data science mentors spanning departments across campus.

Benefits of the position include mentoring experience, networking within the UChicago data science ecosystem, and working as part of a team to broaden participation in data science and computer science.
