Bio: Meng Jiang is Associate Professor and Frank M. Freimann Collegiate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. Jiang was appointed as a Lucy Family Institute Fellow, as well as the Program Chair of ND-IBM Tech Ethics Lab. Dr. Jiang’s research fields are data mining, machine learning, and natural language processing. Jiang is interested in developing Strong, Controllable, Multimodal AI for applications such as Sciences (e.g., material discovery, math reasoning) and Engineering (e.g., physical systems, recommender systems), as well as education and mental health. His research focuses on Computational Behavior Modeling for applications such as intelligent assistance, recommender system, and question answering. It is at the intersection of user modeling, graph learning, information extraction, text mining, and text generation.
