Information about the Speakers & Host
Tony MasseryTony brings over 20 years of experience in the software engineering field. His career has been defined by building and scaling cutting-edge systems across diverse, high-stakes industries.
Tony began in high-performance finance, where he built analysis platforms at Templar Trading and high-frequency trading and risk platforms at Goldman Sachs. He later architected a major shift to Big Data systems in the insurance industry as a Software Architect at Allstate, before striking out on his own to co-found a machine learning software startup in his mid-twenties.
A proud “fail fast” veteran, Tony then dove into the Chicago startup world, leading the new products team at Avant. This journey landed him at Tempus AI nine years ago, where he has been a key engineering leader in scaling the company from about 50 to 5,000 employees. Today, as the Head of Generative AI Products at Tempus AI, a leader in precision medicine, Tony is leveraging this depth of experience to move large language models and multimodal data from research into real-world, high-impact clinical applications. He offers a unique, engineering-minded but business-focused perspective on the current state of Gen AI and how to build successful products at scale that can impact lives.
