Lindsay House, a preceptor jointly appointed at the Data Science Institute and the National Science Foundation Simons AI Institute for the Sky, has been named a Science Communication Fellow by Boston’s Museum of Science.

The Data Science Institute at the University of Chicago is pleased to announce that Lindsay House, a Postdoctoral Preceptor jointly appointed at the National Science Foundation Simons AI Institute for the Sky and the Data Science Institute, has been chosen as a member of the 2026 Digital Science Communication Fellowship, an elite national program as part of the Museum of Science’s Global Science Creator Network, dedicated to strengthening scientific communication and public understanding.

Selected through a competitive national process, fellows receive comprehensive training in digital storytelling, behavioral and communication science, public engagement, and creative strategy.

“As AI becomes increasingly central to everyday life, we need researchers who can translate cutting edge research and developments to the public,” said David Uminsky, Executive Director of the DSI. “Lindsay brings expertise and enthusiasm to science communication, and this fellowship is a wonderful recognition of that.”

“Through our Science Communicator Fellowship, a key initiative of our Global Science Creator Network, we’re training scientists, researchers, and experts to communicate more effectively on digital platforms and connect with audiences interested in their work,” said Tim Ritchie. “By pairing them with experienced digital mentors, we’re meeting people where they already are and building trust in science through stories that inspire active hope.”

The fellowship begins this January and concludes with an in-person capstone summit in Boston.
