Amanda Jotte is an Assistant Instructional Professor of Statistics and Data Science at the University of Chicago. Previously, she was a Preceptor in Data Science at the University of Chicago’s Data Science Institute. She received her PhD in Computational and Data Sciences from Washington University in St. Louis, where she also earned a Master’s degree in Data Analytics and Statistics. Her research interests involve the fair, accountable, and transparent use of AI for social good. In becoming an instructor, her interests have broadened to best practices for teaching data science, and in particular, data science ethics. Beyond research and instruction, she is interested in curriculum and program development for data science as it matures as an emerging field.
