Bethany Frank

Bethany Frank is a Bioenergy Curriculum Developer, where she helps convert cutting-edge research projects into instructional materials for higher education. Her role enables students to better understand bioenergy science topics and pursue pathways in STEM fields.

Currently, she is authoring bioenergy learning case studies for the BRIDGES project, which is funded by the Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO), U.S. Department of Energy. She also supports students through bioenergy-focused workshops and other learning experiences. Bethany wants to increase scientific literacy for the general public, so people can better understand contemporary STEM-related issues and find potential solutions.

After graduating from DePaul University with a B.S. in Biology, Bethany studied at the University of Maine, where she earned an M.S. in Ecology and Environmental Science. In addition, with her Certificate in Secondary Education from Northwestern University, she has taught at community colleges for eight years and at inner city high schools for five years. These experiences have given her significant experience in both understanding and teaching biology concepts to a wide range of audiences.

Bethany is a member of the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA).
