Grant Ho
Assistant Professor of Computer Science
Grant Ho is an assistant professor in the Computer Science Department at the University of Chicago. His research studies computer security, with a particular interest in problems at the intersection of data and security. Grant’s recent work focuses on improving the digital security of enterprises along three dimensions: (1) establishing a scientific foundation for guiding security best practices, policies, and regulation; (2) understanding the adversarial capabilities of AI for cybersecurity; and (3) developing new data-empowered methods and systems to protect organizations against cyberattacks.
Previously, Grant was a CSE Postdoctoral Fellow at UC San Diego and a Visiting Researcher at Corelight. He received his PhD in computer science from UC Berkeley and his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Stanford University. His research has been recognized with four distinguished paper awards across the top security conferences, an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship, a Facebook PhD Fellowship, and the 2017 Internet Defense Prize.
