Varada is a Preceptor at the Data Science Institute and the City Colleges of Chicago. She earned her PhD in Geographical Sciences at the University of Maryland, where she continued as a research professor studying landscape change and human environment interactions. Her research interests lie in using geospatial data to study climate and environmental change impacts on ecosystems and human health. She is excited to share her knowledge of spatial data science using real-world examples and looks forward to continuing her journey as an educator and researcher at the University of Chicago.
