AI Home DesignThis project explores how artificial intelligence can make personalized interior design more accessible, particularly for users who may not know how to describe their preferred style. The team developed an AI-powered renovation system that begins with a photo of a user’s existing room and recommends professionally designed spaces as visual inspiration. After the user selects a preferred direction, the system combines the original room, reference image, and user preferences to create a personalized renovation plan and generate a redesigned version of the space. Users can then continue refining the design through conversational requests, allowing the AI to update the room based on their feedback. By addressing the “visual cold-start” problem, the project demonstrates how multimodal and generative AI can transform visual preferences into personalized, iterative home design recommendations.
